Friction stir spot welding (FSSW) is one of the welding methods applied in different types of manufacturing processes such as in the vehicle and aerospace industries. Therefore the main purpose of this paper is better understanding of the correlation between natural frequencies and fatigue crack initiation of the FSSW in four different welding processes. For this purpose fatigue and experiment modal analysis tests were carried out at different fatigue strength levels. The experimental modal analysis was carried out on four different types of friction stir spot welded specimens after different fatigue life tests. Finite element (FE) modelling was performed in ABAQUS software using the Lanczos method for comparing the obtained results with the experimental tests. Some important findings were determined from the experimental and FE modelling results. One of the interesting findings was similar behaviour between the FE model and the experimental test for defined frequency ranges.},
